What it does

Four things, ruthlessly well.

ShowMode clears exactly what breaks a screen-share. Nothing more, nothing less.

Clean desktop, instantly

Hides every file, folder and screenshot on your desktop the moment you toggle. Brings them right back when you're done.

Silence every notification

Turns on a dedicated Focus filter that stops Slack, Messages, Discord, Mail, and every app banner. No Teams message previewed on your screen-share again.

Mute audio cleanly

One tap mutes your system output so your Spotify, browser tab, or incoming call alert doesn't bleed into your recording.

Hide the clutter apps

Minimizes Slack, Discord, Messages, Spotify β€” whatever you pick. Keeps the demo app you're sharing front and center.

How it works

Three seconds before every meeting.

01 β€” SET

Pick a shortcut.

The default is βŒ₯⇧P. Change it to whatever your fingers already know.

02 β€” PRESS

Hit it before you share.

Desktop hides. Notifications silence. Audio mutes. Clutter apps disappear. A small confirmation flashes. That's it.

03 β€” DONE

Press it again. Everything returns.

Exactly where you left it. Your wallpaper, your windows, your sound β€” all back, undisturbed.

Pricing

Questions

Honest answers.

How is this different from macOS Focus mode?
Focus silences notifications. That's one step of four. ShowMode also hides your desktop icons, mutes audio, and minimizes the specific apps you don't want visible on a screen-share. It's the full "meeting-ready" switch, not just a do-not-disturb.
Which macOS versions are supported?
macOS 13 Ventura, Sonoma, Sequoia, and Tahoe. Apple Silicon and Intel both supported.
Does it work with Zoom, Meet, Teams, and Loom?
Yes. ShowMode runs independently of your meeting app β€” it just prepares your Mac. Any screen-share, recording, or presentation app benefits.
Can I change the keyboard shortcut?
Yes. The default is βŒ₯⇧P, but any combination works. Change it in Preferences.
What data does ShowMode collect?
None. Zero analytics, no crash reporters, no phone-home. Everything runs locally on your Mac. The App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected."
Does it need Accessibility permission?
Yes, to minimize and restore windows cleanly. macOS will ask once on first run, then never again. We use Accessibility only for window control β€” nothing is logged or transmitted.
What if I don't want ShowMode to mute audio?
Every action is individually toggleable. Use only the parts you want.
Mac App Store or direct download?
Both, at launch. MAS for easy install and auto-updates ($4.99). Direct version ($6.99) includes a few extras that the sandbox doesn't allow β€” Dock hiding, extended app control, Shortcuts.app integration.
Is there a trial?
The direct version includes a 14-use free trial. Mac App Store doesn't allow trials, but Apple offers refunds within 14 days.
Will it become a subscription later?
No. Your purchase is a lifetime license. If you bought once, you own it. Major future versions may be optional paid upgrades β€” never a forced re-purchase.
