Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 28, 2026
ShowMode is built around a simple promise: it does not collect anything about you, ever. This page exists to document that promise concretely so that nobody has to take it on faith.
What we collect from the app
Nothing. The ShowMode application has zero network access. It does not include any analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, or tracking code. It does not contact our servers, third-party servers, or any servers. You can verify this by checking the app's sandbox entitlements (it has no com.apple.security.network.client or .server entitlement) or by monitoring outbound traffic with Little Snitch or Lulu.
What we collect from the website
The website at getshowmode.com runs on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare collects standard request logs (IP address, user agent, referrer, request path) for security and abuse prevention. We do not run any analytics scripts, tracking pixels, or cookies on the site. There is no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Fathom — nothing.
Mailing list
If you sign up for the launch waitlist, we collect your email address through Loops (loops.so). We use Loops to send the launch announcement and any directly-related follow-up. We will not sell, rent, or share your email with anyone. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email.
Purchases
If you purchase ShowMode, the transaction is handled by Lemon Squeezy (lemonsqueezy.com), the merchant of record. They collect what is needed to process the payment (name, email, billing country, payment method) and store license keys. We receive your order confirmation email and license key. We do not see or store payment card details.
Permissions the app requests on your Mac
- Accessibility permission — required to minimize windows in other apps via the macOS Accessibility API. Granted in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility.
- Apple Events to Finder and Dock — required to hide desktop icons and toggle Dock auto-hide. Scoped only to com.apple.finder and com.apple.dock; no other apps.
- Audio output mute — uses CoreAudio's standard mute property on the default output device. No microphone access, no audio recording.
None of these permissions involve sending data anywhere. They are local-only system controls.
Children
ShowMode is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, regardless of age.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and post a brief note describing what changed.
